Hello! Greetings and salutations from the afterlife! It's been awhile since I've had an official update journal like this hasn't it, hmmmm~? I have decided it was time to post one as a way to catch everyone up about what has been happening and what is going to be happening. Dont worry though, its nothing bad- I can assure you. hehe Lets start off with some more of the important things, shall we?

XIII.. GOING ON ... VACATION!? So starting after I send out this spirit box transmission, I will be going on a two week vacation to spend time with some family. There will be fun! Festivities! Socializing! and most of all.... no wifi.....erk- It has turned into a unintentional hiatus it seems~! I know-ahah- it is crazy to think since I was deemed such a workaholic and also affectionately a "Recluse" since I am so dedicated to my art it has gotten in the way of my social life often. I hardly find myself away from my pc or tablet-- or my nose out of my criteria books. Did you know, everything is planned out in a physical agenda (mentioned criteria books), and I have already scheduled out to May?! Yes, I'm not joking! Its real! Cloud had to stop me from scheduling out any further to save my sanity. Just a little side fact for you all~

Being dragged away from my beloved computer, what ever will I do? Surely I may just die again! The world is useless without my art to be drawn....

If I were to be seperated that is. Remember the part about being a workaholic? Yes, well, I am packing away my tablet along with me to draw in the freetime when my family isnt going to be "go go go". So fear not, even if I dont have wifi I will still be working on commissions and owed art here and there!

WHO IS CLOUD? As some of you may have noticed, my account is now being monitored by another user that I have deemed an "Admin" since I am nearly too busy nowadays to get around to comments,questions and concerns in a timely manner. I want to be able to answer everyone quickly and efficiently, since nothing is worse than waiting a week for my transparent ass to finally respond! Whoopsie.. Sunset or "Cloud", as we know them, is my partner who is stepping in as a big help for when I am going to be away or when I am unable to get online in general. Including the two weeks I will be gone, they will be the ones answering to your comments and managing any extra posts if I have them available all by themself until I return. WHATS HAPPENING NEXT? KEYCHAINS.. SUMMER POINT SALE PRE INFORMATION.. Now for the less important things that are still exciting nonetheless. Very soon I will be opening preorders for the keychains you keep seeing several polls about- its not exactly set in stone but expect to see the preorder advertisement drop the 1st of April! NOT as an april fools joke I should clarify..eh..I wonder if I should wait a little bit maybe... hmm.. anyways- So far as of right now this design is the winner [Click here] from the poll and is planned to be one of the projects to be finalized while I am on my "Hiatus". Vograce was the manufacturer of choice, so without a doubt I believe the keychains will turn out with high quality and hopefully durability. Maybe.. just maybe.. i'll be able to throw in some extras like a hand written letters of appreciation and one of a kind doodles! One day I hope to be able to throw in sticker freebies as well hehe..one day.

Now for the pre information about this years upcoming Summer Point Sale. There isn't much else to be said other than it has been confirmed it will be hosted again this year, falling on its annual dates (Click here to learn more). However slots will be EXTREMELY limited, even more than it was last year. The reason being is because I bit more than I can chew with last years, and ended up doing commission work for the entire rest of the year of 2023... then part of 2024!

Granted, my commissioners are very patient and understanding to receive their pieces from me, I just dont feel its right to prolong the turnaround time. Remember, my goal is to be efficient! As well as a few more rules and regulations are going to be put into place this year- so keep an eye out for the new adverts for it that explain a bit more in detail.

Whew~~ This became a bit long winded eh? Sorry about that! I have just had so much to say to you all recently and havent been able... awe man.. Hello everyone reading! I feel its due time to make an update journal like this since the end of the year is approaching us so quickly~! (Sobs...) There has been so many different things happening on this page, so it just seemed to make sense to me to talk about them all in an actual sit down journal- as opposed to a itty bitty status update. First things first, 2K watchers on DeviantArt and 1K Subscribers on YouTube!!

Thank you so so so much to everyone who followed me on DeviantArt, Ill have a 2K raffle journal going into more depth soon ---and thank you to those who subscribed to me on YouTube!! Since my YouTube channel is the home to my other most dearest love- Animation.

Did you know that YouTube was the first ever social media I had?

Thats right! It came even after my DeviantArt and that was 10 whole years ago! A whole decade! (Man... how time really flies.....) Back in 2013, before I knew I can just simply upload art pieces to the internet, my main form of expression was through (really bad, but endearing..) ms paint/moviemaker animations. This was before I made my account we all know today "Okamixxiii". I was heavily into Bani the Kitty, those fun little animation memes, multi-animator projects and most of all-- the idea of creating my own animated series. Since I knew it was possible. Inspired by series such as; Feral Pride, Cow of the Wild, The Missing Light, 86, and The White Wolf With Blue Eyes (Warning, a lot of these series were pretty dark themed and bloody- just incase you were to look any up!).I remember trying several times to launch an animated series of my own!

I of course failed to follow through with most of them though-- because as a child, I really didnt have any clue about writing a "proper" story...... oooor any of the animation principles at all for that matter XDD. Either way I never gave up! Just as I was dead set on becoming a comic artist-- I was also dead set on releasing said comic as an animated series! This brings me to my next topic, I am so very much excited for. SECOND TO THE TOPIC LIST--IN 2024, I NO LONGER PLAN ON TAKING COMMISSION WORK! For the reason of focusing on partly my YouTube channel and animations then the other part for progressing "Skin and Teeth". My goal was to hit 1K, then be able to share my stories with all those people on that platform as well, just in animated form. Its something I wanted to do for a really long time, and now I finally have the opportunity to explore creating my own animated series once more. Of course I can't say I will be releasing any episodes right away (SORROW-- I WISH I COUD WORK THAT FAST TOO... TRUST ME....) but that means more lore animation memes and my favorite-- AMVS!! <3 I have a loooooad of animation ideas Ive been wanting to do but never gotten around to because of commission work always being main priority!

I plan on creating more of the comic before I jump into actually creating the first pilot of Skin and Teeth, since I remember someone saying to always learn about creating a story through comic before you learn trying to animate an episode. Honestly? Cant argue with that! There is so much for me to learn still C: Other stuff that I am chatty about today: Ive been working on perfecting my page and subscription tiers~!

I'm still red/sea green themed but now with red more as to show for Skin and Teeth and the sea green for my own taste B) hopefully that made sense. Yippee!! Heyo! My name is Okamixxiii, and I'm a digital artist that has been uploading my art publicly to DeviantArt for 10 whole years. To some this may be just a small thing in comparison to accounts that have been on here since day one, but to me this account standing this long is everything to me.

It is my will to create, express myself and a way to build friendships within a community.

2013, May 6th. I was a child that was just beginning my internet journey as an artist.

I drew horrible Ms paint drawings or dA Muro drawings (anyone remember that?), used bases and was teaching myself how to animate with windows movie maker. Used circle tools and even sometimes traced. Didnt know the concept of references, color pallets, algorithm and upload schedules. Anything of that sort. You know, just being a kid. I look back fondly at these memories no matter how funny it is to me now. Not in a cringe type of way but more of a "Yeah, hah. I lived that experience I see many artists going through today still." type of way. I love it. I really do.

At first I didnt know how to draw anything other than wolves and cats, but I still had such an untamable curiosity to learn about the art world and the different artists around me. Deviant Art was an untapped source of information and inspiration at my fingertips. This still holds true to me to this day which is why I still continue to use this platform. I knew about DeviantArt for a few years prior to my joining but was never allowed to make an account because my parents (thankfully) mostly kept me off the internet at that age. It wasnt until I brought it to my moms attention (more like relentless begging) that I can share my art as Ive always wanted on here a couple years later that she would allow me to make my first email and first DeviantArt account. Juliet56 was born! I can for sure say that the username was inspired from Taylor Swifts "Love Story" for certain all just because of one video and one video alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7dQfo-SJO8 So thank you CookieMonster MS haha. This was my all time favorite video back then and it showed. Heavily. I wonder where they are now.. I was so ecstatic that I even started drawing just to upload since the notion of sharing something was always exciting to me. I remember sitting up at the family computer that ran so so so slowly, drawing with a mouse and then uploading nearly 7 times a day at one time because you could not keep me offline. I had even mentioned it to my friends at the time, who also then began to make accounts. This was the first ever community that I had joined online. I may not talk to everyone anymore but hey, aamaddi . Youre still here! Gotta mention you, youre a real one.

2023, May 6th. 10 years passed, and i've improved by the help of everyone that had cared to take me under their wing on this platform.

My username changed several times before I became who I am now, which I feel is permanent. Like Yes! This is me! This is apart of my identity in this world! It is my second name that at times I feel should be my first, if that makes sense. I am who I truly am here.

I began to develop coherent stories, started animating more often, and creating webcomics. I began to build skills that are related to advertising and monetizing my art so I can make my hobby not just a passion but something that can also possibly sustain me. and the biggest of all, I was no longer a child creating art. I grew up, here, on DeviantArt. I also wanted to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me and continues to support me. At the time of typing this, 1.4k was something I never really imagined reaching here. I actually reached the 1k milestone for my IRL birthday, which was one of the biggest birthday presents I could ever receive. It completely blows my mind that there are that many eyes on me-- of real people with their own stories and art journey-- just on the other side of the screen. You are not just a number. You are an individual. Ive always been apart of already established communities, but this one is my very own. I am so full of warmth for it I could actually cry!!

I just know that child that started this account would have thought I was the coolest person ever, and to me that is one of the most self fulfilling things. For that, I draw for him. For that, the support is immeasurable. I hope I make sense. Through the years DeviantArt has changed just as much as I have. Some for better some for worse. Despite the worse off bits others may not enjoy, its because of all of this I truly dont think I can find it in my heart to ever abandon this website. There is a constant feed of inspiration, motivation and information that new artists are just yet beginning to scratch the surface of. Hell, even older users like me still feel all of those elements even if it wasnt as strong as it was when you were shiny and new to it. Ive made my home here and hope that this website will continue to be a good home to the newcomers. DeviantArt may not be perfect but it is more than just good for me.
